The article considers the importance of Big Data technology at the present stage of development, analyzes the prospects of application in the sphere of higher education. The results of studies of the application of Big Data technologies are shown. Presented state of the art, trends in the development of Big Data technologies and examples of companies that have implemented Big Data technologies in their activities.
