The article deals with the problem of definition of the structural policy position in regional policy. As the title implies the article describes targets, mechanisms and efficiency of the structural policy. Much attention is given to directions of regional structural policy, which help to provide a solution to the socio-economic problems and to increase the investment attractiveness of the region.
