Claude de Seyssel (1450-1520) was one of the outstanding French historians of the rhetorical-political school of the Renaissance period. The main aspect of his thought was to see internal stability and consensus between the different estates of the French kingdom as one of the main reasons of the French monarchy's long-term success in the international affairs.
