the article reveals the political views and legal ideas of the Grand Prince of Kiev, Vladimir Vsevolodovich Monomakh on the basis of the analysis of his works. The great statesman sought to show the problems of different areas of life of the ancient Russian society in his writings, but the prince's main ideas had political and legal content. Only a meaningful analysis of the political and legal views of Vladimir Monomakh will allow us to understand his point of view concerning the political and legal conjuncture of the Old Russian state.
