Evolution and aggravation of the Soviet-Chinese relations in the 1920s in the context of Far Eastern border security
Annotation
The article analyzes the Soviet-Chinese border status through the lens of bilateral relations in the 1920s. It examines the role of the Far Eastern border in the relationship and policies of both countries, reveals the roots of the Sino-Soviet conflict (1929) over the Chinese Eastern Railway (CER), as well as the justification of the conflict from both the Chinese and Soviet sides. The article also covers the course and outcome of the armed confrontation on the Soviet-Chinese border, which resulted in a severance of diplomatic relations but did not change the border status.
