Results of researches of authors group in the field of increase at cutting efficiency by the ceramic cutting tool in the conditions of the automated manufacturing are given in this publication. Main types of cutting ceramics destruction are analyzed. Recommendations about the choice of failure criterion of the ceramic cutting tool in the automated manufacturing are made. The method of calculation of the main characteristics of the ceramic tool reliability, such as failure rate, probability of non-failure, probability of tool failure is developed.

This article deals with the computer-aided analysis of electronic tools reliability taking into account the redundancy in Microsoft Excel environment, the reliability calculation is implemented with an expanded set of correction factors for the selected backup version with the formation of the working database of backup options.
