Abstract
The article presents the author's interpretation of the understanding of the mechanism of state regulation of economy that allows new ways to justify the necessity and expediency of its application by the state in a market economy. Discusses the various economic theories advocating state intervention in the economy. Discusses the debate about the choice of methods of state regulation of economy.
