Abstract
In the folk costume of the peoples of Eastern Europe at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Belts perform various important functions. This part of clothing in the traditional representations of various ethnic groups in the region was endowed with direct functions as well as magical properties. In the rituals of the peoples of Eastern Europe, various rituals associated with this subject of traditional costume have survived.
