Abstract
The article discusses the features and main problems that require the provision of social assistance to single-parent families in the upbringing and development of children, determines the main reasons that make it difficult to create a favorable educational environment for a child in an incomplete family, determines the main goals and objectives, directions for providing social pedagogical assistance to an incomplete family in the process of its support, the role of a specialist in the social sphere of activity in providing social assistance to this type of family is noted.
