Razvitie turizma v Abkhazii v sovetskii period
Annotation
The article examines the formation and development of the tourism industry in Ab-khazia during the Soviet period (1920–1990). The key stages of the resort infra-structure formation, the role of state planning in the transformation of the region into an all-Union health resort, as well as the dynamics of the tourist flow are ana-lyzed. Special attention is paid to the main resorts (Gagra, Pitsunda, Sukhum), types of recreation (sanatorium treatment, mass tourism) and their socio-economic impact on the republic.
