The development of our country directly depends on the competitiveness of domestic products, which, in turn, depends on the quality of control, that is, on the level of measuring laboratories, the specifics of which require recognition of competence.

The relevance of the topic lies in the transition of laboratories to the new version of ISO/IEC 17025–2017 «General requirements for the competence of test and calibration laboratories». The article compares two versions of the standard, reveals differences and similarities. And changes in the gradation of changes are also highlighted.
