«Fostering Reading Comprehension in Primary School Students Using Critical Thinking Strategies in Literary Reading Classes»

The article addresses the problem of developing reading comprehension skills in 4th-grade students. It proposes the use of Critical Thinking Development Technology (CTDT) strategies as an effective tool. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the practical application of a set of strategies—"Read-Stop Thinking Method," "INSERT," "Cluster," and "Hexagon"—for in-depth text analysis. Specific methodological techniques used with literary works from the 4th-grade curriculum are described. The conclusion is drawn about the high effectiveness of these strategies for developing analytical and systemic thinking, as well as for achieving the interdisciplinary skills required by the Federal State Educational Standard for Primary General Education (FSES PGE).

«Critical thinking development technology in the work with gifted children. Activation of pupils' mental activity at lessons of Russian language and literature»

This article is dedicated to the organization of the Russian language and literature lessons in high school using of methods of technology development of critical thinking. Technology methods are considered as variants of methodical work with gifted children. A number of criteria for gifted children is listed, their ability to think critically is separately discussed. The author reveals the problems of graphic records on the lessons, enlarged work with questions, presents cinquain as a form of information synthesizing and organizing, and also gives the most successful examples of cinquain of students on the theme "disyllabic size of a verse."
