Using cognitive-conceptual analysis, the variants of contensive correlation in verb formation of the English phrasal verbs and Russian synthetic perfective verbs with prefixes are considered. Notional (conceptual) synonymity of the role of the corresponding English postpositions and Russian prefixes in this process of per-fective verb formation is analyzed.

The article discusses the state of the legal regulation of the preliminary investiga-tion carried out by the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (hereinafter: the NKVD), who was executive agency with extensive expertise. The subject of this research is zeugma, as a mean of creating comic effect in short jokes. Zeugmas are analysed from the point of view of their morphological structures, syntactic structures and semantics. The article contains the description of zeugmas structural variants depending on presence/absence of valence, and type of zeugma according to its semantic coherence.
