Abstract
В данной статье рассмотрены особенности использования и развития английского языка в Индии. Проанализированы исторические особенности, при которых английский язык распространялся в Индии, такие, как мультикультурность коренного населения, колониальное прошлое страны и восстание против британского правительства. Рассмотрены различные тенденции развития языка в настоящее время (хинглиш и индлиш) и их отличия от традиционного английского в синтаксисе, лексике, морфологии. В работе также описано влияние индийского английского на современный международный английский.
