this article focuses on revealing salient features typical of the socio-cultural dialect of the US Army subculture. It concludes that the military slang is perceived as an integral part of the army idiom mosaic, allowing to get into the essence of the collective and individual worldview of servicemen, as well as to identify the system of spiritual and moral values and priorities of the military.
