This work is an essay-description of a painting by PP Konchalovsky's "Siren v tzvetu" ("Lilacs in a basket"), written in 1937.

The author offers his own vision of the problem of spelling prefixes pre- and pri- in Russian. After a brief theory should be the original fairy tale about the test prefixes. In the fairy tale author tries as often as possible to use words with these prefixes.
