This article provides a brief analysis of Tobias Smollett’s ‘The Expedition of Humphry Clinker,’ which is considered to be his best novel. Similar episodes and literary portraits had been featured in his previous works, but the epistolary form, used exclusively in this novel, contributed to lively and extremely convincing characters, as well as vivid and picturesque descriptions.

«Ancient indian cave temple monuments as objectsof unique environmental complexes»
The article outlines the features of creating cave temple monuments in India. A comparative analysis of some aspects in the architectural traditions and building technologies of the temple architecture of Europe and India is given. The impact of construction technologies on the interior spaces, the interiors of temple complexes cut in rocks and integrated into integral systems of environmental complexes is affected.

«Philosophy of the ancient East»
The article is devoted to the philosophical thought of Ancient East and particular characteristics of Eastern philosophizing. It is developing in two similar and meanwhile different traditions – Chinese and Indian. The work reveals main distinctive features in the system of philosophical and pre-philosophical thought of India and China. Special attention is given to the world view and understanding the role of a human being both in space and society. The researchers identify and justify common elements of Eastern philosophizing that help to detach it from the Western one. They also provide the main features of famous treatises constituting an integral part of understanding this topic.

«Buddhist monument Ajina-Teppa – the evidence of the oldest cultural interaction of Tajikistan and India»
The article is dedicated to the monument of historical and cultural heritage of the Buddhist monastery of Ajina-Teppa. When carrying out archaeological excavations, a large number of works of sculpture, painting and Buddha in nirvana were found here. Ajina-Teppa is a testament to the merging of traditions and images of Indian art into one organic whole with local, Bactrian-Toharistani ones. This monument is also important for identifying the origins of ties and interaction of cultures of the peoples of Central Asia, which are rooted in antiquity.
