«The competitive activity as a factor of metasubject competencies’ formation in teaching the fundamentals of safety and defense of the motherland»
The article examines the potential of competitions and festivals as an effective form of organizing extracurricular activities in the subject «Fundamentals of Safety and Defense of the Motherland» (FSDM). Based on the analysis of two competitive practices – the All-Russian meta-subject competition «Rescuers and Brainstorming» and the international competition on FSDM «Ant» – the author summarizes the practical experience of implementing the competency-based approach in a general education institution. A system of pedagogical support for participants is proposed, criteria for assessing the effectiveness of competitive activity and its impact on teacher professional development are identified. The research results can be used by teachers-organizers of FSDM when planning extracurricular activities
