In the 1990s and 2000s, the system of continuous pedagogical education in Moscow covered areas such as advanced training and retraining of teaching staff, coordination of innovative development in the Moscow education system, participation in federal education modernization programs, and participation in international educational projects. The advanced training of city education workers took on new features. A system of variable training for students was established, and advanced training was conducted on the basis of an individual approach, using modular training and a flexible combination of opportunities within the city education system.
