The article describes the role of exports in the context of increasing geo-economic position of Russia in international economic relations. The significance of increasing non-resource exports as driver of innovative development is substantiated. Special attention is paid to export positions and prospects of the Rostov region. The author analyzes the key global non-resource markets, the presence in which is crucial for the competitiveness of the country and the region in the global economy.
