Due to the introduction of score-rating system (SRS), the learning process becomes more transparent and traceable, that allows to intervene in a proper time in the process for best results achievement. Involving students in research activities through the introduction of SRS in the Department of Pathological Physiology permits to select and train new staff, develop a scientific direction in the FBEI of HPE USMU.

The purpose of ongoing study was to determine the level of residual knowledge in subjects, on which will be based the study of a new discipline - Pathophysiology. Normal physiology, biochemistry and medical biology have been chosen as basic disciplines. After testing students were asked to formulate their research interests. It was found that the greatest interest among students of medical-prophylactic and pharmaceutical faculties was caused by such topics as "The study of aging mechanisms" and "Studying the mechanisms of stem cells action ."
