The author of the article points out, that modern civilizational confrontation in the territories of the Former Soviet Union testifies to the historical insolvency of the United States current geopolitical strategy, undermining the foundations of current world order. In this regard, the historical and philosophical understanding of the Soviet community, national priorities and historical perspectives of the national-public development of the USSR in the period between the two world wars is particularly relevant.

The article is devoted to the actual problem of the west frontiers of the Tmutarakan' land (and more widely to the political status of the East Crimea). Lately the subject has been important because of a danger of ideological influence on research. In conclusion it is marked that with a strict approach to the sources we have no evidences of presence of Russian power in Crimea. Nevertheless, certain influence of the Tmutarakan' was possible.

The article is devoted to the Eleusinian Mysteries and their roles in ancient literature. The researcher analyzes texts of ancient authors, revealing the myth’s plot about the Persephone kidnaping by Hades and Demeter's search for her daughter. In addition to the myth, the Eleusinian Mysteries appear in ancient literature of various genres very often – from comedy to philosophical treatises – as the circumstances of the action or context of religious and existential issues.

The article describes the materials, representing the G.K. Prave museum visual aids development and activity. The author points out, that the museum was established in the beginning of the XX century and experienced such events as revolution, war and the process of reunion.

There are some discrepancies and inaccuracies in the interpretation of certain events associated with the establishment and operation of schools and the organization of the educational process in them in the military-historical literature and other sources dealing with the military special schools’ foundation in St. Petersburg, where the training for the artillery corps had been provided during the first half of the eighteenth century. In particular, it is argued that the Saint-Petersburg artillery school «for Pushkarsk children» was established on May 20, 1730. In this article, the author, based on the study of new archival sources, specifies the date of establishment of this school. Scientific work also aims to complete the existing information about the organization and the activities of the artillery military special schools in St. Petersburg during this period. In addition, for the first time some archival sources are being introduced into scientific circulation.

The article is devoted to the study of medieval monuments located on the Ustyurt, such as Aybuir feces Erburun, Karaumbet, Kiyazhol, Urga, as well as written records about them. New data collected in the period of independence, namely, information about the monuments located on the Ustyurt Pulzhay, Toprak Kala, Bograhan where given a certificate of residential buildings locations, their areas and building materials, identified as a result of archaeological research.
