В данной статье рассматривается взаимосвязь между развитием умений чтения и аудирования на начальном этапе обучения иностранному языку, приводятся краткие определения перечисленных умений, особый акцент делается на формировании умения чтения, перечисляются критерии для облегчения понимания иноязычного текста, даются примеры из некоторых адаптированных книг, выявляется сходство жанра при обучении чтению на разных языках.
