Translation transformations of wordplay at the phonographic level in English advertising

Annotation

This article addresses the problem of conveying the phonetic and graphic wordplay of English advertising texts when translated into Russian. Using comparative, contextual, and linguistic-stylistic analysis methods, 50 slogans are analyzed to examine techniques for creating wordplay and identify the key translation transformations used to preserve the pragmatic effect.
