The article presents a scientific and practical work on making the school collection of basic minerals and rocks of Trans-Baikal territory. Using econometric techniques in the present work, we examined various aspects of the educational institutions in the Volgograd region, revealed the results of their activity. We found out a number of the problems existing now in education and defined the strategic goals of education development. We also analyzed the mechanisms of regional policy directed to improvement of education quality in the Volgograd region.
