«The process of entering informational and communicational technologies into the activities of university libraries in German-speaking space»
The article presents a retrospective analysis of information and communication technologies entering into the library system in Germany and Austria. In the course of the structural changes of university libraries belonging to leading German-speaking countries based on information and communication technology, library practices were involved in the processes of informatization, virtualization, globalization and commercialization. The future of university libraries, the German-speaking space depends on their ability to become service agencies able to work with their users and competent to provide the necessary information. Analysis of the German-speaking libraries experience on implementing new digital technologies can cause professional interest and be useful for Russian librarianship specialists.
