«Terahertz-Graphene-Metasurface Based Biosensor with Dual-Resonance Response as a tool for cancer detection using cell specific frequency»

Early detection is the most important strategy for controlling and management of cancer, which can significantly increase the survival rate by detecting disease in the early stages and rapid treating and preventing the progression of the disease. Based on existence of specific cell frequencies in the form of the response of each cell to its own specific frequency and the difference between normal and tumor cell frequency levels as a hallmark for cancer detection, we suggest using Graphene-based metasurfaces. Owing to the outstanding physical properties of graphene, its biosensing applications implemented by the terahertz metasurface are widely concerned and studied.a novel design of the graphene metasurface, proposed by ( Tan et al., 12) consists of an individual graphene ring and an Hshaped graphene structure. The graphene metasurface exhibits a dual-resonance response, whose resonance frequency strongly varies with its geometrical parameters. The simulated results clearly show that the theoretical sensitivity, figure of merit, and quantity of the proposed graphene metasurface for breast cells reach 1.21 THz/RIU, 2.75 RIU-1, and 2.43, respectively. These findings may open up new avenues for promising applications in the diagnosis of cancers.

The author carried out the analysis of wear-resistant coating compositions for various operating conditions of ceramics and provided information about their effect on strength characteristics and the distribution of residual stresses in the surface layer.

«Molecular Energy Concept of Substances Unpacking»

This article brings together previously published evidence of the unified nature of physical processes and phenomena in terms of changes in the energy of a substance molecule. The unified physical nature of all these physical phenomena has been proven, as a single multistage process of energetic unpacking of molecules of a substance, which is logical to call the molecular-energy concept of unpacking a substance. The considered processes include the following processes. Surface rupture, characterized by the surface tension coefficient. The melting process of a substance characterized by its melting point. A boiling process characterized by the boiling point. Evaporation (and condensation) process characterized by internal energy and enthalpy as well as critical point. The conclusions of the theory are confirmed by well-known empirical dependences and by reference books of the physical properties of simple substances: internal energy, enthalpy, surface tension, melting point, boiling point and critical point.

«Representation of capillary phenomena from the physical model of unpacking a liquid»

Based on the physical model of «unpacking» a fluid, published in 1983 to explain the physical nature of surface tension, an explanation of capillary phenomena was proposed. The unified physical nature of the condensation process and the processes in the capillaries expressed in terms of the surface tension of the liquid is proved. To prove the applicability of the «unpacking» model for capillary phenomena, an empirical Borelli-Jurin formula for determining the height of fluid lifting in capillaries was theoretically derived depending on the magnitude of the surface tension. The assumptions under which the formula is obtained are indicated. In addition, the article proposes a new formula for determining the maximum height of liquid lift in the capillaries, depending on the critical temperature of the liquid and the molecular weight of the liquid.
