Abstract: the article discusses the relevance of developing emotional intelligence (EI) in preschool children as a key component of successful socialization and academic adaptation. The authors analyze the structure of EI and substantiate the need for its purposeful formation. Practical pedagogical approaches integrated into the educational process of preschool institutions are described. It is concluded that systematic work on developing EI is a strategic investment in the mental health and success of a child.
