The article is devoted to the problem of socio-cultural knowledge formation and understanding of linguistic world image among bearers of the language. The article demonstrates an educational model supposing a direct work on formation of area studies knoweldge including 3 stages of work with English songs.

The article deals with the most important methods of English language teaching in universities and schools - vocabulary and connected dictation. Carrying dictations and their verification processes are teacher's time and labor consuming processes. In this regard, it is necessary to solve the problem of automation of carrying and checking processes for English dictations. When designing a system of automatic dictation and testing it is necessary to develop a method of storing video dictation system.

Using cognitive-conceptual analysis, the variants of of contensive correlation in verb formation of the English analytical phrasal verbs (with postpositions out, in) and German synthetic in nature prefixal verbs (with prefixes aus-,auf, ein-) with analytical derivation are considered. Notional (conceptual) synonymity of the role of of the corresponding English verbal postpositions and German prefixes in this process of perfective verb formation is analyzed.

Статья посвящена группировке фонетических характеристик существительных подъязыка Business English по характеру их воздействия на деривационную сочетаемость данных лексических единиц. Работа выполнена на материале соотношений между признаками деривации и фонетики, которые были установлены при помощи корреляционного анализа. This article is devoted to the training of graduate students of natural science faculties of the University to make abstracts of scientific texts. The author suggests the worked out in the practice system of teaching how to make abstracts, which includes five stages of both group and individual work. Each step of the work with graduate students, as a result of which they acquire skills of making abstracts of English-language scientific texts and of writing abstracts on their articles in English is described in detail.

According to the authors one of the main areas of general education is the development of talented children. A gifted child is an ordinary child, and he does not always fit the requirements of the standard educational system. For solving some of the issues required consequent consideration of particular problems: first, what is a «genius»; second, what are the main characteristics of maturity criteria and methods for their detection; third, how is giftedness manifested and formed in English classes. The article presents the methods of work with gifted children in a foreign language class at school, with special attention to the conditions for successful development of students. It includes the responsibilities that teachers of the gifted and talented have in teaching the English language. Strategies for teaching the language in a natural and flowing way to increase intake and usage are also presented.
