The scientific article presents the results of the analysis of the definition of the theoretical characteristics, essence and concept of the economic category «the effectiveness of the organization's activities». Particular attention is paid to the concept of «economic efficiency» in assessing the activities of the enterprise. The relevance of determining the essence and concept of efficiency in the activities of the organization is that, thanks to the assessment of its indicators, the success of doing business is analyzed. It has been determined that the essence and characteristics of «the effectiveness of the organization» is defined as the degree of efficiency and effectiveness of the commercial activities of the enterprise.

The article analyzes the role of audit in improving the organization's strategy. The technologies for identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the existing strategy and performance management system in the organization (as an indicator of management quality) are considered. Ways are proposed to improve the audit system and business strategy to ensure an increase in the efficiency of company management.

The purpose of the study was to compare performance strategies of cadets and junior basketball players. To achieve this goal, a test of performance strategies (TOPS) was used as an instrument, designed to measure psychological sports skills used both during competition and during practice. The results showed that juniors, in comparison with cadets, have higher indicators in the strategies "Goal setting" and " Self-talk".

This article explains results of a comparative to test the performance of two top banks in the German banking industry analysis using a financial ratio analysis method. The main determinants considered are solvency and liquidity indicators, which make it possible to observe the risk behaviour of banks before and after the financial crisis. The hypothesis of the study is that the behaviour of German banks depends on bank-specific variables that affect the institution ’s loan policy. The universal banks in Germany can be divided into three main types of institutions: commercial, public sector and cooperative banks. The analysis is carried out on banks of the same category in a decomposed manner. Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank representing the commercial/Private sector. Checking each Bank separately is carried out to detect the similarities or differences that each bank may have in terms of bank performance. The empirical analysis involves a sample of these German banks observed during 2015–2019.

The main issue of this study is a further development of the criteria of personnel evaluation in knowledge-based organizations and application of this method in order to conduct the performance appraisal in terms of a particular company. Two research methods are used: the analysis of the data based on in-depth interviews, and questioning of 130 existing company respondents according to 360-degree feedback model. The results are analyzed and then proposed to the superiors of the company. The following study presents a description of the investigated field context, an analysis of the existing approaches in performance appraisal, chosen methods justification, and results anticipated.

To counteract the negative impact of sanctions restrictions and increased competition, a set of sectoral import substitution strategies has been developed, the successful implementation of which will largely depend on improving the performance of enterprises in leading sectors of the Russian economy. Many components used in machines and equipment of the oil and gas complex are made by casting. Casting is one of the oldest and main methods of obtaining metal products and blanks. The main advantage of casting production in oil and gas industry is that it is possible to produce any component or spare part of the machine and equipment used in the extraction of oil and gas of various configurations and masses. Oil and gas equipment is a product operating under difficult climatic conditions, therefore the used parts manufactured by casting must have high accuracy and sufficient strength, i.e. have improved operational performance characteristics.

The article presents the design of the refrigerant compressor characterized in that, in order to improve performance and operational reliability, each silencer is equipped with a cooling casing connected to the cooling jacket of the cylinder by means of a capillary tube, and the inlet pipe of the cooling medium is connected to the cooling housings. The article also presents the design of the stand for testing the proposed cold-rolled compressor for operational reliability with enhanced functionality.
