The characteristics of students' emotional intellect, studing "Physical Education and Sport" subject

Annotation

The aim of this study was to examine the features of emotional intelligence among university students of study program "Physical education and sport". To achieve this goal Schutte Self-Report Inventory was employed. The results showed that female students have a higher ability to understand emotions, and male students – to manage their emotions.

Leadership qualities of freshmen and juniors, studying at collages

Annotation

The aim of the study was to examine the characteristics of leadership qualities in 1st year and 3rd year students enrolled in Lithuanian colleges. To achieve this goal 36-point Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire, developed by Bass and Avolio, was used. The results showed that 3rd year students have significantly higher levels of inspiration, compared with 1st year students.

The purpose of the study was to compare the performance of tactical and technical actions of playing activities among strikers of Continental and Higher Hockey League (KHL and VHL). To achieve this goal analytical method was employed. The purpose of the study was to compare willpower qualities among boxers and Greco-Roman wrestlers. To achieve this goal Chumakov questionnaire of diagnostics of willpower qualities among the person VKL was employed. The results showed that Greco-Roman wrestlers have higher scores in "responsibility" and "initiative" scales.

The aim of the study is to reveal the indicators of the psychological well-being of women attending group fitness classes. To achieve this goal Riff's scale of psychological well-being was used as a method of measuring of psychological well-being indicators. The results of the conducted research showed that younger women have higher scores on the " purpose in life " and "personal growth" scales.

The aim of the study is to compare health literacy rates among sedentary workers with different physical activity levels. To achieve this goal the as a method of measuring of health literacy indicators. The results showed that sedentary workers with sufficient physical activity have higher scores on the "General health literacy", "Health care" and "Health promotion" scales, compared to sedentary workers with insufficient physical activity.

Annotation

The aim of the study is to compare characteristics of the stress among athletes and non-athletes prospective police officers. To achieve this goal the PSQ-Op (Operational Police Stress Questionnaire) was used as a method of measuring of stress indicators. The results of the present study showed that athletes prospective police officers have lower scores on the "Failure to switch from work to rest" and "Fatigue caused by workload" scales, compared to non-athletes prospective police officers.

Mental imagery skills among cadets and junior wrestlers

The purpose of the study was to compare skills of mental imagery among cadets and juniors of the Greco-Roman wrestling. To achieve this goal Bump questionnaire was used as an instrument to measure the level of skills for creating mental images in the practice of an athlete. The results showed that juniors in Greco-Roman wrestling scored higher in the skills “Creating the mood of images” and “Control of the formation of images” than cadets.

Peculiarities of stress in team and individual sports athletes

The purpose of the study is to compare stress among individual sports and team sports athletes. To achieve this goal, the following questionnaires were used: a scale of pre-competitive stress, a scale of physiological stress, and a scale of emotional stress. The results showed that athletes in individual sports, compared with team sports athletes, scored significantly higher on pre-competitive stress and on emotional stress.

Professional burnout among different age swimming coaches

The aim of the study is to answer the question of whether there are significant differences in the professional burnout among different age swimming coaches. To achieve this goal, the CBQ questionnaire was used for investigation of burnout among sport coaches. The results showed that coaches of "middle" age (31-60 years) have a higher scores of burnout compared to coaches under the age of 30 years.

Leadership styles of young and adult basketball players

The aim of the study was to study the leadership characteristics of young and adult basketball players. To achieve this goal Leadership Questionnaire, developed by Northouse, was used. The results showed that leadership styles in adult basketball players are expressed to a greater extent than in young basketball players. Adult basketball players are more likely to have directive leadership, support leadership and participatory leadership.

The aim of the research was to study the features of the sports experiences among basketball players - cadets and juniors. To achieve this goal, the Sport Experiences Questionnaire (SEQ) developed by Luiggi, Maïano and Griffet was used. The results showed that that basketball players juniors had significantly richer competitive experience and the experience of progress than cadets. When assessing the risk taking experience, no statistically significant differences were found between the cadets and juniors.

The purpose of the study is to analyse the characteristics of the psycho-emotional state of future specialists in the field of physical education and sports. To achieve this goal, two methods were used: A. Antonovsky scale for assessing the sense of coherence and a scale for assessing the level of stress tolerance (Thermometer according to Kiselev). The results showed that the future coaches have a better psycho-emotional state than future physical education teachers because they are more resistant to stress.

The aim of the research is to study the peculiarities of a coach's leadership qualities through the eyes of young and adult basketball players. To achieve this goal, Leadership scale in sports developed by Chelladurai was used as a methodological instrument. It turned out that juniors evaluated the coach's behaviour more positive than adult basketball players did. For junior basketball players a more positive assessment of such coach's leadership qualities is characteristic: training and instruction, social support and positive feedback.

The purpose of the study was to compare performance strategies of cadets and junior basketball players. To achieve this goal, a test of performance strategies (TOPS) was used as an instrument, designed to measure psychological sports skills used both during competition and during practice. The results showed that juniors, in comparison with cadets, have higher indicators in the strategies "Goal setting" and " Self-talk".
