It is shown that expansion of functional capabilities of forest machines is the most important factor in increasing efficiency of the complex of works on the forest. Based on functional and technological analysis new technical solutions are proposed.

The article describes a noctuid moth Cosmia affinis as a pest of deciduous trees. The main purpose of the work is to determine the percentage of damaged deciduous trees of different types, which were damaged by the pest noctuid moth and the influence of climatic factors on their numbers. The main work results are the following: calculated percentage of the trees leaf blades damage, the researcher has indicated the percentage of deciduous trees, damaged by noctuid moth, presented a phenocalendar of a noctuid moth Cosmia affinis development and the occurrence of pests’ frequency in number.

The article describes a chinch bug Arocatus melanocephalus as a pest of deciduous trees. The main purpose of the work is to determine the percentage of damaged deciduous trees of different types, which were damaged by the pest bug and the influence of climatic factors on their numbers. The main work results are the following: calculated percentage of the trees leaf blades damage, the researcher has indicated the percentage of deciduous trees, damaged by bugs, presented a phenocalendar of a chinch bug development and the occurrence of pests’ frequency in number.

The paper presents an analysis of the motorization level in the Volga-Grad region. The author concluded that the main limiting factor, affecting the increase in the number of bugs is a high moisture level in Almaty.

It shows that the development of technology for continuous cutting of trees and shrubs is going towards the creation of multi-functional machines fit into the flexible technology of timber production.
