Deviant behavior (Latin deviation — deviation) is defined as non-normative behavior reflecting the inconsistency of actions and deeds of individuals and groups with actually established and officially established moral and legal norms (patterns, traditions, values and laws) in a particular society.

The article examines the family, personal traits of parents and the style of attitude towards the child as possible causes of deviant behavior.
