«The possibility of lexicographical descriptions of adverbial modifications»
The article is devoted to the analysis of lexicography establishment of complex synthesis units of Russian verb. The variants of the submission of verbal modifiers and modifications within the experimental explanatory and word-formation dictionary developed by Associate Professor of I.V. Ivlievoy Science and Technology University of Missouri have been discussed. We sketched the range of problems which appear while trying to describe all complex semantic increments of synthesized sound verbs. Both undoubtedly positive results of the author's research – a real opportunity to codify the units of verbal synthesis according to developed models of entries and contentious issues, according to specified meaning it is not possible to synthesize all the verbs of sound semantic, are confirmed and reasoned.

«Cognitive comparative analysis of «civilization» and «culture» concepts in Russian and English languages»
The article considers content-based links between the concepts of «civilization» and «culture» in the Russian and English languages. The purpose of the study is comparing their content-based components in the lexical semantic fields of verbalization of the concepts under consideration in the Russian and English languages. The research employs the method of cognitive comparative analysis. The analysis of lexical and semantic composition reveals similarities and differences in their structuring in the English and Russian languages. According to the author the result of comparison suggests implications that the concepts under study are perceived differently by the representatives of the Russian and English cultures and contributes to the revelation of national peculiarity of conceptualization of cognate phenomena in the mentality of different peoples.

«Proverb at English lesson as a basis for creating a model of the personal compromise of non-linguistic students»
The article discovers the features of the method of proverbs at English lessons of the students of nonlinguistic specialties. The authors outline the aspects of psychological effect of proverbs being the basis for creating a model of the personal compromise. What is more, the results of this research might well be applied at interactive English lessons.

«The semantics of «lacuna modifications» (a case study for the verbs of sound)»
The article examines the insufficiently explored domain of Russian verbal word formation synthesis – the lacuna (gap) field. For the first time ever, the term «lacuna (gap) modification» is being introduced into linguistic usage. This new term is defined, the well-grounded classification of lacuna types is presented, and the methods for creating an adequate lexicographic index of lacunas (gaps) is provided. Using the methods of componential analysis and synthesis, the lacuna charts and diagrams for the verbs of sound are constructed. Data obtained from the Russian native speakers’ questionnaire is used for clarification purposes. The results of the research set forward the identification methodology and consistent description techniques for lacunas (gaps) with respect to their future codification in various dictionaries, e.g., thesaurus, word-formation, etc.

Using cognitive-conceptual analysis, the variants of of contensive correlation in verb formation of the English analytical phrasal verbs (with postpositions out, in) and German synthetic in nature prefixal verbs (with prefixes aus-,auf, ein-) with analytical derivation are considered. Notional (conceptual) synonymity of the role of of the corresponding English verbal postpositions and German prefixes in this process of perfective verb formation is analyzed.

The English phrasal verbs are analyzed as the analytical verb lexemes. The analysis is carried out through the binary role of the postpositions in these verbs – word-building and conceptual from the synchronic and diachronic view-points. The conceptual sets of the postpositions are presented and characterized. Special attention is devoted the postposition up.

Using cognitive-conceptual analysis, the conceptual notions of the Russian verbal perfective prefixes (prefix за- as a sample), being the typological correlations to the English postpositions of the phrasal verbs and the German separable verbal prefixes, are analyzed. Notional (conceptual) proximity of word-forming and word-chanching processes in the languages mentioned is considered.
