It is promising to create multifunctional forest machines equipped with a set of multifunctional modules for reforestation, fire fighting, road construction, among which modules can be found using soil-grenades, mulchers and other techniques for laying mineralized strips and actively extinguishing forest fires.

This article is devoted to the using the first language in learning English. In the article, the author suggests two principles that should be considered whenever teachers face a problem in teaching English. The first principle is that, as a matter of professional pride, teachers should try to solve classroom problems through the application of pedagogical skills rather than through administrative or disciplinary procedures. The second principle is that most problems have a variety of causes, which to some degree reflect the variety of individuals in a class. There is, thus, likely to be a variety of solutions, and so a teacher may need to put together a package of complementary solutions rather than just try one possible solution.

In the article the history of the adversarial position of Russia and Great Britain in the Middle East in the context of the fate of Afghanistan is considered. The author demonstrates the aggressive nature of the British policy in the region. Thus Russia acts as the political player who tried to achieve the geopolitical purposes in Afghanistan in the legitimate way. The article is devoted to the study of the emergence of the concept of «symbol» in Russian culture of the XVIII century. Polymer materials have become widespread in the modern construction industry due to their cheapness and variety. With regard to their popularity at the present time there can appear the issues of their toxic and fire danger. The work has studied the samples of two floor synthetic building materials. The results of the determination of the fire hazard indicators of materials (combustibility, flammability, smoke ratio) showed their compliance with the current certificates. The authors have studied the properties of gaseous combustion products of samples by the method of thermal analysis and FTIR analysis. The results of chloride ions analysis according the formula of Maxwell-Mohr in thermolysis products indicate the toxicity of the materials studied.

In pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern Russian historiography the problem of evaluation of «foreign» influence in various periods in the development of Russia is more than actual, and thoroughly represented. The author notes that in this period, one of the areas of such influence was the activities of foreign («foreign») both military and civilian professionals of various profile and level, invited to the Russian service at the end of the XVII–XVIII centuries. In his article, the author, based on the study of new archival and other sources, attempts to evaluate the «pros» and «cons» of foreign influence, primarily on the development of the Russian state military science and military schools, as well as to strengthen the defense of the state during the first quarter of the XVIII century. There are some discrepancies and inaccuracies in the interpretation of certain events associated with the establishment and operation of schools and the organization of the educational process in them in the military-historical literature and other sources dealing with the military special schools’ foundation in St. Petersburg, where the training for the artillery corps had been provided during the first half of the eighteenth century. In particular, it is argued that the Saint-Petersburg artillery school «for Pushkarsk children» was established on May 20, 1730. In this article, the author, based on the study of new archival sources, specifies the date of establishment of this school. Scientific work also aims to complete the existing information about the organization and the activities of the artillery military special schools in St. Petersburg during this period. In addition, for the first time some archival sources are being introduced into scientific circulation.
