An area of research in the present article is process of obtaining new scientific knowledge in the Russian Federation. The factor of influence of institutes of a citation index on efficiency of scientific and technical progress acts as an object of a research. The main results of the conducted research are the sentences on saving of level of motivation of all categories of researchers consisting in implementation of full indexation of content of a scientific digital library of eLIBRARY.RU taking into account the available stratification, but, at least, with saving of full statistics of citings for the lower stratum now excluded.

The article presents the research of information protection means against unauthorized access to an automated radionuclide spectrometry system. As a result of the conducted researches, the system's security indicators have been obtained, which allow to calculate and optimize the probability of damage from unauthorized access taking into account the operating time and the applied information protection means.

The frequency distribution of the effective specific activity of natural radionuclides in building materials is analyzed. It has been established that the dose received by the body over a long period leads to more serious damage than the same dose received in a short period.

This article describes the principles of assessing the vulnerability of buildings from landslides based on simulation. Approaches to the interpretation of the results of such modeling for vulnerability assessments are substantiated. The analysis of simulation results for different variants of landslides impact on buildings of different structures is carried out. Curves of vulnerability of buildings from landslides of different sizes are constructed. Vulnerability values can be used in risk assessments as part of engineering-geological surveys and other types of work.

The article is devoted to the study of virtual reality as a social phenomenon. Through an appeal to the past, its genesis is analyzed, as well as its significance in modern realities. The latter is viewed from both a social and a personal point of view. Comparing the number of supporters of virtual communication with the number of people of conservative views, conclusions are drawn about the tendency to depart from the usual communication. It allows to assert that the problem of the termination of live communication is relevant to this day. Inferences allow us to assert that the problem of replacing real communication is different. After looking at the positive consequences, the introduction of the mind into virtual reality, it is affirmed that there are good sides to this action. Through analysis, the causes of entering the World Wide Web are generated. In conclusion, the question is raised about the need for virtual reality in everyday life, its problems, as well as the prospects for development.
