The article deals with some reviews of the Russian émigré literature, regarding peasant policy of General Petr Nikolaevich Vrangel, a Commander-in-Chief of the Russian army. The author pays much attention to the analysis of agrarian reform concept.

The article is devoted to the Eleusinian Mysteries and their roles in ancient literature. The researcher analyzes texts of ancient authors, revealing the myth’s plot about the Persephone kidnaping by Hades and Demeter's search for her daughter. In addition to the myth, the Eleusinian Mysteries appear in ancient literature of various genres very often – from comedy to philosophical treatises – as the circumstances of the action or context of religious and existential issues.

The article examines the points of view of the Russian émigré literature concerning the activities of an admiral A.V. Kolchak in the anti-Bolshevik movement – work for the government of a Lieutenant-General D.L. Croatia in Harbin, the performance of the duties of a Supreme Ruler and Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the views of such emigrant authors as the generals A.P. Budberg, N.N. Golovin, D.V. Filatev, a member of the government A.V. Kolchak, G.K. Hins, head of the constitutional-democratic party P.N. Miliukov, who considered the admiral's involvement in the dictator's duties as a mistake, which had great negative consequences for the White movement in the East of the country.

This article is dedicated to the organization of the Russian language and literature lessons in high school using of methods of technology development of critical thinking. Technology methods are considered as variants of methodical work with gifted children. A number of criteria for gifted children is listed, their ability to think critically is separately discussed. The author reveals the problems of graphic records on the lessons, enlarged work with questions, presents cinquain as a form of information synthesizing and organizing, and also gives the most successful examples of cinquain of students on the theme "disyllabic size of a verse."

Abstract. The article is devoted to analysis of core functions and the leading trends in modern education comparative studies (comparative pedagogy), presented in the writings of the most authoritative representatives of pedagogical thought in the United Kingdom Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Against the background of the brief scientific essays portraits of several British scientists, it highlights the main ideas of scientific creativity, sketches of articles showing how their contents serve comparative literature in Britain as a whole (as an approach, method and the study per se). As a result of this comparative analysis, the author outlines the most important functions of the educational comparative science and the approaches on which it is based, that can be useful for the Russian education.

The main purpose of every teacher is to help students understand the language and increase their motivation in learning foreign languages. One of the most effective methods in motivating is the usage of contemporary literature in class. The main advantages of such literature as well as the requirement about how to choose the necessary literature are mentioned in this article. The research is also stating the necessity of using foreign literature in the context of different competence including the linguistic and social and cultural ones, including different points of approaches on this subject – personal, communicative and integrated. The example in the work is taken from the book «Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire» by J.K. Rowling.

The article gives an analysis of the artistic structure of the heroic epos of the Khanty people as the source of the national story development in the Khanty literature. As a result of the research it was discovered that the process of transformation of epic motives and themes into literary text as well as peculiarities of styles and poetic figures of speech dating back to folklore intervenes according to the author’s individual, cultural and axiological worldview.

In this article, the problem of declining reader interest among high school students is considered. A way of solving this problem is proposed: increasing high school students' interest in reading by using modern technologies. The research methods used in this paper include theoretical (analysis of scientific, non-fiction and fiction literature, followed by analysis and synthesis of obtained data), as well as empirical (a survey in order to determine the reading activity of students, comparison and analysis of obtained data, systematization and statistical processing of research materials) methods. The author has examined several modern information and communication resources, of which those most suitable for the purpose of this study have been selected: an online survey, a poster, a book trailer and an Internet forum. The results of this study demonstrated a positive dynamic in 10th grade students' reader interest, thus confirming the hypothesis.

The phenomenon of censorship is often associated with Chinese literature. Indeed, all works that are planned for publishing, are subjected to control. This article is devoted to the study of the extent to which censorship affects the linguistic side of the issue and, in particular, the possibility of using peculiar elements of colloquial style. Furthermore, the article also considers the events of the XX century, which became the reason for a greater extent of stylization of the mentioned functional style elements in Chinese literature.

This article presents the results of the study of the mirror's imagery in Japanese literature. Also it presents the imagery of the mirror in the works of the Japanese writer Edagawa Rampo is analyzed. In addition, the characteristics of the mirror's imagery in a particular work by the aforementioned writer are presented , which in turn makes it possible to notice the similarities and differences between Western and Japanese ideas about mirrors.
