In the article the analysis of modern scientific preparation of students of economic specialties on the example of mathematical disciplines and information technology. On the basis of the ascertaining experiment identified the problems and clarified the stages of mathematical education for future economists, articulated the purpose of their mathematical training from the viewpoint of their competitiveness, the impact of mathematics education on the development of General professional competences of students of economic universities.
