It is substantiated that the effectiveness of the professional activity of staff of juvenile affairs is determined by their subject position in the process of mastering the professional and educational experience that is the main condition for their professionalism in the future.

The article discusses the role of independent learning of foreign languages as an effective form of language education, that promotes acquisition of strong language skills and raises the interest in the foreign language among students. The author pays attention to the goals and objectives of independent learning, its organization, content, types and forms. It is concluded that systematic and carried out independent learning has a great educational value and contributes to the acquisition of the foreign language.
