In the article the history of the adversarial position of Russia and Great Britain in the Middle East in the context of the fate of Afghanistan is considered. The author demonstrates the aggressive nature of the British policy in the region. Thus Russia acts as the political player who tried to achieve the geopolitical purposes in Afghanistan in the legitimate way. But neither Russia nor England didn't take the interests of the country into consideration actually.

The subject of this monograph is the disclosure of issues of patriotic and legal education of students of higher education as the most important components of educational policy in the university. The monograph explores the process of presentation and analysis of the UK and the British Commonwealth of Nations school system in 1920–1930th in N.A. Hans’ pedagogical publications. Playing the role of the translator of the Western progressive pedagogical ideas, the scholar made a thorough research of the English-speaking countries school system. China, Japan, Russia, the three countries play an important role in northeast Asia. China – Japan – Russia relations are one of the important influence to the northeast Asian region. The relations among China, Japan and Russia are very special relationships in the world, with Russia's political and economic center in Europe, so it does not directly affect the relationships between the world powers. The author can only say that this belongs to the regional relations, but it has an influence across regions. At the same time, the relations are not simple relationships in a specific field, but a complex, multiple collection. The United States and Japan have increasingly tense relationships because of Ukraine problem between Russia and Europe. Russia issued a statement that attaches great importance to the economic and political ties with Asia. This paper has the analysis of the new situation of China – Japan – Russia relations, the analysis of Russia's strategy of «east» of increasingly complex forms in northeast Asia, which has a great significance to the formation of the northeast Asia economic integration.

According to the author, the geographically adjacent countries of China and Russia have strongly complementary economic structures and have seen rapid development of economic and trade cooperation in recent years, but overall trade between them is relatively low in volume and lacks variety in structure. The Belt and Road initiative has provided new opportunities to deepen Sino-Russian economic and trade cooperation. The two countries should take this opportunity to strengthen infrastructure interconnection, improve the existing economic cooperation mechanism and trade structure, and promote the construction of a Sino-Russian free trade area.

Relevance of the article is caused by the fact that investment activity of insurance companies exerts considerable impact on their solvency and financial stability. Insurance reserves and own funds are provided with doubtful or unreliable assets, and the insurer has a risk of non-execution of the obligations for insurance payments in connection with inability to use the investments made in unreliable assets. Thus, there is a need of regulation of investment activity of insurers.

The author typologizes historiographical works on the history of Freemasonry, which studies the problems of version formation of «Masonic conspiracy» in Russia. The article shows the cultural and historical specificity of «Masonic conspiracy» in European and Russian policy, ztructures chronology of activities of Masonic organizations aimed at the formation of a political conspiracy against the Russian Orthodox monarchy. The author investigates the activities of prominent representatives of Russian culture and the Russian government, the participants of Masonic organizations and issue of taking control of the Russian state authorities Masonic lodges in Russia and also the differences in the activity of Masonic and paramasonskih societies. The relationship of Masonry and the «liberation movement» has been analyzed. As a result, the author concluded that the «Masonic conspiracy» in Russia had been presented as the highest form of organization of anti-government forces, which under the cover of political liberalism and cultural and educational activities pursued the goal of political upheaval and the elimination of autocracy.

This article explores semantic and stylistic meaning changes of idioms with the word “silki” (snares) during XVIII–XXI centuries on the basis of Russian classics and modern literature texts and publicistic writing. It is proved that the word “silki” (snares) was used as a biblical expression in ecclesiastic and some fiction texts, this explanes its strong negative connotation, which is out of use in up-to-date contexts.

The author considers, that the Central activities of the Bolsheviks study convincingly leads to the conclusion that the banner of United Russia was raised by Stalin to solve the specific geopolitical problems of the new Russia-related foreign intervention and Civil war, as well as awareness of the separatist processes disutility for the stable new Russian statehood development.

The article is dedicated to the changes in the banking sector due to sales and aggregation of the small and medium-sized banks. This paper describes the processes of consolidation and aggregation of the banking sector in Russia, it analyses the dynamics of the M&A deals and identifies the main trends in this market segment for 2017–2018. Based on the overview of the Russian M&A market (M&A means mergers and acquisitions) in the banking sector for the past years a conclusion is drawn about the aims and rationale of the modern processes of mergers and acquisitions in the Russian banking business.

The terminology practice, which is used in the legislation of constituent entities of the Russian Federation at the legislative initiative deputies right is a subject of research to the legislative authority in Russia. The article shows the analysis of legal acts of constituent entities of the Russian Federation in order to highlight a systematic approach to the organization of the legislative process at the stage of the legislative initiative by deputies in regional parliaments. The investigation of the basic concepts used in relation to the association of deputies in regional parliaments as a subject of legislative initiative, has allowed to formulate the conclusion about the place of the deputy and deputy groups in the mechanism of legislative initiative.
