As the author of this article marks, the problem of spiritual and moral development of pupils today is very acute in our society nowadays. More and more people realize that for the spiritual revival of society knowledge given by traditional education is not sufficient.

The article presented researches the advertisment slogan from the point of view of its historical and linguistc peculiarities and also from the point of view of possibility of such advertisment unit application to increase students' motivation level while learning English. The object of the study is an adverisment slogan. The subject of the research is linguistic features of adverising slogan and their application in teaching English. Material of the research is 20 authentic advertising slogans taken from the Internet and analyzed on having different stylistic techniques applied in lessons among students of additional education centre.

The paper deals with contexts of the author's position of problem of discrepancy of results knowledge and skills as determinants of quality with the requirements of the state educational standard. The package of measures aimed at solving this problem is substantiated.

The work is devoted to the development of divergent thinking of senior pupils. The author considers preparation of pupils for subject olympiad as a tool of divergent thinking development among senior pupils. A researcher draws attention to the olympaid stages and objectives of each stage, which should be addressed while preparation for the olympaid.
