The article examines the difficulties college students face when learning English, as well as the factors that affect the effectiveness of this process. This article is devoted to the problem of the formation of foreign language communication among university students of technical specialties. The approaches of Russian researchers to the definition of the concepts of "foreign language communication", "competence of foreign language communication", "professional foreign language communication" are considered.

In this article, the problem of declining reader interest among high school students is considered. A way of solving this problem is proposed: increasing high school students' interest in reading by using modern technologies. The research methods used in this paper include theoretical (analysis of scientific, non-fiction and fiction literature, followed by analysis and synthesis of obtained data), as well as empirical (a survey in order to determine the reading activity of students, comparison and analysis of obtained data, systematization and statistical processing of research materials) methods. The author has examined several modern information and communication resources, of which those most suitable for the purpose of this study have been selected: an online survey, a poster, a book trailer and an Internet forum. The results of this study demonstrated a positive dynamic in 10th grade students' reader interest, thus confirming the hypothesis.

The problem of verb-classifier complement in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is very difficult to solve. Its difficulty of learning is that the Chinese complement itself is very complex. Their importance for successful professional socialization in conditions of interaction and cooperation of regions is shown.

Foreign direct investment has a significant impact on the development of the Russian economy. It is necessary to pay more attention to attract foreign investment in Russia and remove all the difficulties on the way of their receipt. Investors have many problems with the implementation of investments in our country, so investment processes and this activity in general are constrained. Attracting PPI to the Russian economy has many advantages. Analysis of incoming foreign investments in Russia for 2009–2017 is given in the article. Main problems and recommendations are represented.
