This article is devoted to the comparative-legal research of crimes committed by a special subject, the responsibility for which is provided for in the criminal law of Russia and other foreign countries. For the correct qualification of the crime, the special characteristics of the subject are important, since the persons who possess them bear increased responsibility. In the course of the research, the author reveals similarities and differences in the insight by legislators of foreign countries of a special subject of crime, in compare with the criminal legislation of Russia, and also suggests using the experience of foreign countries to improve Russian legislation in the criminal sphere.

The article examines the transformation of the position of women in the context of the colonization of Korea. The forced "discovery" of Korea in the second half of the 19th century made it vulnerable to developed states: in the course of the struggle for a new sphere of influence, Japan established a protectorate over Korea. Contrary to the expectations of some reformers, Japan did not become a pillar in the modernization of the Korean state, perceiving Korea only as a colony. A survey conducted by the author of the article (using survey methods and in-depth interviews) of 20 experts who are highly qualified specialists in the field of counteracting ethnic conflicts, results of mass sociological research on the Cossacks, as well as an analysis of scientific works and media publications on the topic of the study allowed to determine the degree of effectiveness of the activity the main actors in the field of suppression of ethno-religious conflicts. The actions of the FSB and the National Anti-Terrorist Committee were recognized as the most effective (score "5"). The experts highly appreciated the effectiveness of the work of the National Guard and the police ("4"). Cossack organizations received an average assessment of the effectiveness of activities to suppress ethnic conflicts ("3"). Not high enough ("2") experts assess the effectiveness of the activities of voluntary people's guards and other public law enforcement formations.

This article considers the process of socialization of modern junior schoolchildren.
