The article considers content-based links between the concepts of «civilization» and «culture» in the Russian and English languages. The purpose of the study is comparing their content-based components in the lexical semantic fields of verbalization of the concepts under consideration in the Russian and English languages. The research employs the method of cognitive comparative analysis. The analysis of lexical and semantic composition reveals similarities and differences in their structuring in the English and Russian languages. According to the author the result of comparison suggests implications that the concepts under study are perceived differently by the representatives of the Russian and English cultures and contributes to the revelation of national peculiarity of conceptualization of cognate phenomena in the mentality of different peoples.

The authors believe that Russia today loses the strategic directions of sports development: effective interaction between the state and business, management of sports industry, sport propaganda, attraction of investments and innovative technologies, at the same time, the state is realistic about the sport today and is moving in the direction of changes for the better. According to the authors, an example of this can be the implementation of the strategy of development of physical culture and sport for the period up to 2020. The article notes that the state should increasingly focus on creating favorable conditions in the direction of decentralization of management activities, preferential tax treatment, to give place to business in the sports industry, promote healthy lifestyles and to strengthen control over the fulfillment of social functions of sport development.

The article reviews the purpose and tasks of satellite monitoring of railway transport, reveals the development of global satellite navigation systems of the US, Russia, EU and China – space and user segments; of ground telecommunications satellite systems – control segments of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou; domestic developments in satellite technology. Among them is the method of compact description of the crystal lattice proposed in Ph. D. Sychev M. S. The article seeks to study the applicability of these methods to crystals of hexagonal crystal structure and a method of solving this problem.

This article examines the literary translation as a normative value system of contacting cultures, reveals its intercultural and communicative functions. The role and place of literary translation as one of the most important tools for building relationships in the international community is defined. This problem is solved by the example of the translation of novels by the French writer J. Simenon in the Russian language. The author of the article analyzes the errors made in the translation and reveales their negative role in the dialogue of cultures.

The article is devoted to the problem of the influence of the mass consciousness perception under war conditions on the historical sources accuracy. In particular it deals with the investigative materials on the facts of detainees’ death in fasist prison camps in ports of Danzig and Gdynia on the eve of their liberation by the Red Army in March-June, 1945. The author came to the conclusion that although war prisoners’ testimony requires close attention from the point of view of reliability of their separate events perception, still it remains as a precious source of social history of World War II.

The article made an analysis of the training playing activity from the point of view of its influence on the development of collaboration skills among the participants of game sessions, spelled out the conditions for achieving this goal and the necessary ingredients for the organization of effective interpersonal interaction in the process of learning game, based on the rules and ethical norms that do not allow to manipulate and interact correctly.

The article deals with objective preconditions of forming stable bases of the cluster theory and its specific features, the attention is paid to historical aspects of dialectical development of the cluster theory. The authors highlighted the main tasks, accomplishment of which is necessary for achieving an effective cluster policy in the system of the national economy. The model of agro-industrial clusters is considered as one of the ways to increase competitive advantage of the agro-industrial complex, to achieve reproduction on an enlarged scale and to solve tasks of the national victualling. An algorithm of analyzing factors of forming clusters in the agricultural sector of russian economy is proposed.

The article discovers the features of the method of proverbs at English lessons of the students of nonlinguistic specialties. The authors outline the aspects of psychological effect of proverbs being the basis for creating a model of the personal compromise. What is more, the results of this research might well be applied at interactive English lessons.

The article describes a functional model of student self-governance by the example of Russian state vocational pedagogical university. The model bases on vocationally-orientated education and students’ citizenship development. The authors consider the Khakas linguistics to be poor in studies of compound words, including the history of studying. The results of the research can be used when studying morphology and syntax of the Turkic languages, particularly, the Khakass language.
