The article considers content-based links between the concepts of «civilization» and «culture» in the Russian and English languages. The purpose of the study is comparing their content-based components in the lexical semantic fields of verbalization of the concepts under consideration in the Russian and English languages. The research employs the method of cognitive comparative analysis. The analysis of lexical and semantic composition reveals similarities and differences in their structuring in the English and Russian languages. According to the author the result of comparison suggests implications that the concepts under study are perceived differently by the representatives of the Russian and English cultures and contributes to the revelation of national peculiarity of conceptualization of cognate phenomena in the mentality of different peoples.

The authors believe that Russia today loses the strategic directions of sports development: effective interaction between the state and business, management of sports industry, sport propaganda, attraction of investments and innovative technologies, at the same time, the state is realistic about the sport today and is moving in the direction of changes for the better. According to the authors, an example of this can be the implementation of the strategy of development of physical culture and sport for the period up to 2020. The article reviews the purpose and tasks of satellite monitoring of railway transport, reveals the development of global satellite navigation systems of the US, Russia, EU and China – space and user segments; of ground telecommunications satellite systems – control segments of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou; domestic developments in satellite technology. Considering techno-economic and socio-humanitarian perspective, as well as the geopolitical nature of satellite monitoring, it is recommended, firstly, to expand significantly the range of user’s equipment GLONASS, to improve its technical level and quality, and secondly, while choosing the satellite constellation to support domestic technological development.

Among them is the method of compact description of the crystal lattice proposed in Ph. D. Sychev M. S. The article seeks to study the applicability of these methods to crystals of hexagonal crystal structure and a method of solving this problem.

This article examines the literary translation as a normative value system of contacting cultures, reveals its intercultural and communicative functions. The role and place of literary translation as one of the most important tools for building relationships in the international community is defined. This problem is solved by the example of the translation of novels by the French writer J. Simenon in the Russian language. The author of the article analyzes the errors made in the translation and reveales their negative role in the dialogue of cultures.

The article is devoted to the problem of the influence of the mass consciousness perception under war conditions on the historical sources accuracy. In particular it deals with the investigative materials on the facts of detainees’ death in fasist prison camps in ports of Danzig and Gdynia on the eve of their liberation by the Red Army in March-June, 1945. The author came to the conclusion that although war prisoners’ testimony requires close attention from the point of view of reliability of their separate events perception, still it remains as a precious source of social history of World War II.

The article made an analysis of the training playing activity from the point of view of its influence on the development of collaboration skills among the participants of game sessions, spelled out the conditions for achieving this goal and the necessary ingredients for the organization of effective interpersonal interaction in the process of learning game, based on the rules and ethical norms that do not allow to manipulate and interact correctly.
